This $3.2 billion NASA contract funds the production restart of the RS-25 rocket engine, which powers the Space Launch System (SLS), America's most powerful rocket for deep space missions. Aerojet Rocketdyne in California is manufacturing six new RS-25 engines with updated designs for the Artemis lunar exploration program.
